Our company is considering switching from our traditional phone system to a more modern one, as we are transitioning from a fixed-desk setup to a mobile, “choose where you sit” style of working. We have not yet explored our options, but we are considering handling calls via PCs. We have not distributed mobile phones to every employee, though that remains an option. We need the ability to forward external calls to the new phone system and facilitate internal calls efficiently. Can you share your experiences with similar transitions? We'd love to hear your insights. Thank you!

We are evaluating Cisco Webex Calling. According to the vendor, it is the most user-friendly solution available in Japan. The service allows us to receive both internal and external calls via applications installed on PCs and smartphones. Additionally, they offer physical Cisco IP phones, though their prices are twice as high as what we currently use. Implementing Webex Calling would require us to replace our existing PBX system. We will explore other solutions for comparison.

Why don't you just distribute mobile phones to everyone? I suppose it would be the easiest option since you wouldn't have to worry about system implementation. I guess it depends on the nature of the work, but at the end of the day, everyone can be contacted regardless of how mobile they are! As for cost, though, I'm not sure.
